This is the Unimak journey: from a single workshop in Bursa to turnkey plants on six continents. For over 4 decades, we have grown alongside our customers, learning from every project, every partnership and every challenge. These are the moments that shaped who we are.
1983
The Beginning
In a workshop in Bursa, engineer and entrepreneur Mehmet Selamet founds UNIMAK with a simple conviction: machinery should be engineered around the maker — not the other way around.
1995
Our Home
Growing demand brings us to our present facilities in Bursa. It is the original factory floor where every Unimak machine is still designed, engineered and built today.
2001
First Turnkey Plant
Unimak delivers its first complete turnkey plant to Duravit in Istanbul. It is proof that we could engineer not just machines, but entire factories.
2006
Crossing Oceans
Our first overseas complete turnkey plant is delivered to Rocell in Sri Lanka.
2012
Closer to Our Partners
We establish offices around the world, bringing Unimak engineering closer to our partners, wherever their factories are.
2015
The Pilot Plant
We launch our Pilot Plant: An in-house, laboratory-scale sanitary ware factory where models, moulds and recipes are validated before they ever reach a customer’s production line.
2017
Growing Mould Expertise
We establish the EMS Seramik moulding unit in Izmir. This dedicated facility for model development and resin mould production expands our in-house mould-making capacity.
2020
30+ Patents
Our patent portfolio passes 30, protecting the tailor-made technologies born on our engineering floor.
2022
Partnership with Roca Group
We enter a strategic partnership with Roca Group for the SOR High Pressure Casting Machine. More than 2 decades after our first export to Roca Spain, our relationship comes full circle.
2025
60+ Countries, 1,000+ Machines
With more than 1,000 machines delivered, Unimak machinery and turnkey plants now operate in over 60 countries, across six continents.
1990
First Sanitary Ware Machine
Unimak delivers its first sanitary ware machine to VitrA, marking the start of a lifelong dedication to the craft of sanitary ware production.
1999
Going International
Our first international export leaves for Roca in Spain, marking the beginning of a partnership that endures to this day, and of Unimak’s journey onto the world stage.
2001
A New Generation
Our founder Mehmet Selamet passes away far too early. His son Burak Selamet takes the lead, carrying the family’s engineering spirit into a new generation.
2008
High Pressure Casting
We launch our first High Pressure Casting Machine, opening the technology chapter that would become Unimak’s core competence.
2014
Moulds Made In-Hous
We establish our internal resin mould department, becoming a full range supplier for high pressure casting machines and moulds together.
2016
Robots Meet Glaze
We launch our first robotic glazing system, bringing consistency, efficiency and operator health to one of the most demanding steps in sanitaryware production.
2018
Official R&D Center
Unimak is certified as an official R&D Center by the Turkish government, formalising and recognising the innovation culture that has driven us since day one.
2021
Unimak AG, Switzerland
Unimak AG is established in Switzerland, giving our European partners local proximity, compliance and dedicated regional support.
2023
Second Factory
Rising global demand leads to the opening of our second manufacturing facility in Bursa, expanding our production and assembly capacity.
2026
A New Chapter: Unimak Brand Refresh
We embark on a company-wide brand refresh and digital transformation journey. A new face for the same values: craft, care and commitment.
